Barrio Star pushes Mexican cuisine forward while the theme gives a wink and a smile back to the roots. This fun combo has seemed to work for
El Camino nearby so I'm sure this place will be packed nightly too. The focus here is on healthy, progressive Mexican cuisine made from scratch.
I couldn't stay for a full meal, but I was able to sample the Tortilla Soup ($6) and was more than happy with my selection. Richer and spicier than the traditional version, I was thankful to have a pint of Negro Modelo next to me to cool down.
Open for lunch and dinner. The lunch menu is a less expensive version of dinner.
