Valentine Dining

Happy almost Valentine’s Day! AKA “Singles Awareness Day” or in my house, February 14th. Some people like to go on romantic dates for this holiday, some people like to be sad that they are not going on romantic date and other people like to get mad that this holiday exists at all. However you celebrate it, you gotta eat.

Starlite has my favorite Valentine’s Day menu this year because they list 26 aphrodisiacs (carrots!) and then include one in most of their dishes. For example, there are four in the Lamb Tagine.

I don't know exactly what Alchemy is planning but they have been tweeting about a special Valentine's Day menu:

Love potion # 9. Stop in on Valentine's Day and find out what ours is all about @alchemysd

Sweet seduction. Our cocktail pairings for our Valentine's Day Menu will seduce you. Stay tuned for the sweet sips... http://ow.ly/3NEeY

Cafe Chloe has all kinds of stuff going on for Valentine's Day: a prix fixe menu on Sunday,  a lover’s lunch on Monday (served till 2pm), and a four-course prix fixe for dinner on Tuesday. Make reservations early if you plan to go to the Tuesday night dinner or you will miss the lamb sweetbreads and chocolate & fleur de sel caramel tartelette.

I have a dessert addiction so reading “flowerless chocolate cake + ricotta cheese ‘tartufo” on Cucina Urbana’s Valentine’s four course menu makes me hungry but so does “eggplant and goat cheese cannelloni” so maybe I’m maturing a little.

Urban Solace will have both a $48 prix fixe menu and their regular menu available on Valentine's Day. So yes, this means you can order the prix fixe menu and a single cheese biscuit.

The Fish Market has the right idea. Their Valentine’s Day special (Canadian Lobster Tail and Sea of Cortez Prown Combo) is available Friday thru Monday. So, if you have four girlfriends, you can go on four Valentines day dates.

At Bleu Boheneme, their menu for Saint Valentin has Hour d’Oevres, les entress, and desserts to share. “Desserts to share” is perhaps the most romantic thing I have read all day.

Farmhouse Cafe also has their menu available all weekend but they have one wonderful item that no other menu on this list has... Mignardise!
